Mindful Monday ~ Wk 39

All parents tell their children, they love them.

I tell my children countless times a day that I love them.

But I never say it out of habit.

I mean every single word, every single time I say it.

When I put Harley to bed last night, I had tucked him in, kissed him goodnight and told him how much I loved him, as I always do.

I was stood by the light switch, waiting to turn it off before I walked out of his room when he sat up in his bed, looked at me and said “Mummy, I really love you.”

Gosh, I love you too son. You and your sister really are the best thing that ever happened to me.

  1. Oh Ali!
I love hearing anyone say ‘I love you’ – children have such a beautiful way of making us melt and dissolve into a puddle of tears – 17 years and Em still calls me mummy and when she says I love you mummy when she working away, my heart sings and I always get a lump in my throat xx

  2. Beautiful post Ali. My son is 40 and lives in California. At the end of every phone call his last words are ‘Love you mum!’ Love for our children should never end! X
