Ice Lollies, Sun Cream and Sun Hats

What a week and a hot one at that!

A week of pure happiness at the smallest of things.

A week of heartache with the realisation that Harley is growing up far too quickly. Too quickly for my little heart to cope with.

This week I’ve loved getting out into the garden with Harley and Lola. We had so much fun in the sun, in the paddling pool.

Their laughter is infectious.

Apart or together, they are the happiest children. When we added the slide into the mix, well, that took it to another level. Lola wouldn’t stop going up and down the slide and her laugh as she splashed into the water was magic.

This week also saw us going to Harley’s big school for a BBQ. The fact that my baby boy is starting school in September, makes my motherly heart ache somewhat.

But he’s so excited and that comforts me.

We were invited to the school’s Summer BBQ and it really was the loveliest of evenings. Harley decorated his very own mug; hooked a duck; tried his hand foot at a bit of a football shootout and enjoyed the bouncy castles.

It was such a lovely way for Harley to see his future school and teachers, familiarise himself with the environment and to meet some of the children that may well be in his class in September.

We also had a ‘Stay & Play’ session at his new school this week. He got to meet his new class and he loved showing his tatty blue teddy, his new classroom. Harley had to decorate a Rainbow Fish at home to put up on the wall of his classroom. I love this as it means he will have something of his, that he recognises when he starts school. This was a rare moment of sitting down together, getting crafty before the garden called him!

This week was somewhat tinged by the heartbreak that our little Lola fell and broke her collarbone. You would never know it though, as she is still laughing and running around pushing her dolly in it’s pushchair. She just wanted to be like her Papa who also broke his collarbone this week too! #ThisWeekIHaventLoved !! Get well soon, my angel. xxx

Ice lollies, sun cream, sun hats and paddling pools: without doubt, my biggest loves this week.

  1. Wow, sounds like you have had a week of up’s and downs! So much fun and giggles in the garden and your poor Lola (gorgeous name btw!). I’m glad that she is still able to have fun. I’m definitely putting a paddling pool on my shopping list now x

  2. Blimey what a week! So lovely that your sons new school are making such an effort with them. Lovely pictures too, both of that and your paddling pool fun. And poor Lola – ouch – but how funny that the same happened to another family member in the same week! You be careful; things come in threes x #thisweekiveloved
